Amaglam

"Amaglam" has been described as pastel and silver sound waves, which paints a beautiful picture for this print. I believe this helps to create the perfect meaning and serves a very good purpose for this piece. I was really happy with the outcome of this piece it has an enchantment aspect to its appearance.

Next fractal will be, "Ecliptic Oracle"

Alpenglow

Named for its sheen and composition, "Alpenglow," stimulates the thoughts and minds and is one of my personal favorites of mine. The piece started out very different then what it ended up appearing to look like. The center of the print has been compared to a heart, the center of life that keeps this piece alive. While I was creating the fractal my intentions where to create somthing of an abstract yet, create a very likeness to a sunset or sunrise. The name "Alpenglow," comes from its likeness to sunrays and literally means "A rosy glow that suffuses snow-covered mountain peaks at dawn or dusk on a clear day."Now what I thought was interesting about the title of the fractal was its history. [Partial translation of German Alpenglühen : Alpen Alps + glühen, to glow.] Thanks to dicitonary.com for the translation! This one word I think helps to paint a glimps of what I was trying to portray. I hope you enjoy it!

Panoply of Light and Sound

I went back and looked at some of my older fractals that may not be so good and wanted to redo them. I looked at "Iota of Water" to create this print. I changed colors, added more colors and zoomed in a little. I added more layers to create the cloudy apperance around the double spiral, creating a very successful backdrop. "Panoply" meaning array combinds with "...Light and Sound," to give this print its namesake.

Animus

"Animus" even though looking maybe weak in appearnce took strength to create. I spent a lot of time creating this piece, testing differnt layers and colors out not liking anything that I was seeing. I will admit that I am not full happy with the way it turned out just got frustraited with it and decided to move on. It does however hold a few firsts for my as an fractal artist. I have never fully captured and used the more cooler purples and pinks in my artwork. Using usually colors of fire and water and earthy colors. Instead this print I decided to try somthing differnt, probably why I found myself not being drawn to the piece. None the less its my artwork and I am very happy with the solitude of the figure in the center of the piece.

I will be releasing another print today which is entitled, "Panoply of Light and Sound."

Cadre of Longevity

While I was away not making fractals for those two weeks I got the urges many times to go to Ultra Fractal 3. I held off though wanting to come back fresh and ready to create great works of art. I am very pleased with the way "Cadre of Longevity" turned out. The feeling of perpetual motion in this piece is hightened by the coloration of the piece. The dark "X" through the print I added because I wanted some contrast between the bright orange rings and the bright blues of the water effects. The "X" layer in the piece is the very last layer added to the print. Its actually the same layer as the "Shields" from my print "Intercosmic Aegis." The "Shields" helped with the coloration of the inside of my cell structures that inhabit the middle of this print. The soft blues counteract with the orange rings to really give this piece its energy.

Today's print "Animus" will be looked at next.

Insipid Spore

I really enjoyed the background affect I got from the previous print so I wanted to use it again. Infact I would use it again in "Insipid Spore," named for its cellular appearnce. I wanted to name this piece somthing like, "Protozoa..." or "Amoeba..." but just couldn't find the right words to express what I wanted. I came across, "Insipid," even though it means lacking in zest I believe it works well with this piece. I decided to use "spore" to describe this piece which I think brings across the ambience I was aiming for.

Finally after a two week break I bring a sneak of tomorrow's print,"Cadre of Longevity"

Virulent Soul

"Virulent Soul," infects us with strong emotions of saddness and deep depression."Virulent" meaning extremely infectious or poisonious, brings across its dark meaning. The background was created actually with a backdrop of Quickilsilver flattened into a plain and then cascaded three times in differnt locations. Multiple color layers where then added on top of that to create its effect. The "Soul" or being in this picture is yet another look into a print I called "Troglodyte," except this lonely figure is has a little bit differnt shading and coloring. I believe the most striking aspect of this piece is the thin bands of orange coloration in the "Troglodyte." Enjoyed making this piece hope you can enjoy it as well.

Heres what I will talk about next, a print I called "Insipid Spore"

Stygian

Today's piece entitled, "Stygian" travels to the darkest, depths of Styx. Representing the soul enchantment of the river in Hades, "Stygian" reflects the solitude and fear of the underworld. The wavy, protruding lines, paint the stories of cruel and lost souls crossing over its empty banks into Hades, carrying with them their sins of time. As they cross, the river blackens with impurity, hate, and anger, this too is presented in "Stygian." As the dead are tranported to the ever eternal Hades, glimpse into the vacuous dismal land of "Stygian."

Tomorrows print will be "Virulent Soul."

Caterwaul

"Caterwaul," was creating to give the viewer a chance to feel somthing they may have never felt before. Its angular depth perpetuates the viewer towards an never ending life of falling. Its physique creates the illusion of a metallic journey through time. The word caterwaul describes a screeching discourt sound. This piece seems to "scream" continuously to its viewer. Traveling deeper into your waiting soul. With its immortal plunges, into the unknown I introduce, "Caterwaul."

Today's print is "Stygian."

Ecliptic Chimera

While creating a whole differnt piece I came across this splendid print. Its psychedelic colors help shine the semi-circular demonstration in the focal point of the print. The colors help to relay a fun, playful atmosphere with this print which make it a joy to jkust gaze upon and look at. So with its outlandish glow of many colors I present, "Ecliptic Chimera."

Macrocosmic Arcana

"Macrocosmic Arcana," is by far the most unique print in Kiyoshi's Gallery. Being that the piece is not completly abstract and actually visually simulates a planet. Surrounded by a faux universe this "planet" stands out as being the largest body around. Littering the surrounding area is other much smaller satellite planets. The univers in which this scene is taking place in is not your usuall pitch blackness. Instead the space seems to be made of mercury liguid substance. Macrocosmic literally meaning, entire univers. Arcana meaning a secret, portrays that this universe is a little known get away that only the few get to see. With its bands of interstellar gas, the core planet calls for attention. I present to you a secret universe getaway, "Macrocosmic Arcana."

Supernal Paradise

Two days ago, I created a piece in Ultra Fractal 3 and was ready to release it out as a print, but just wasn't completely satisfied with the outcome. I wanted todeliver a print so I scrambeled back to my past works and started looking through them. I fell upon, "Festum Fulmination," which I enjoyed very much and started tampering with the layers. Somthing cought my eye in the "festum's" bottom right hand wing, so I magnified the layers. Cleaning it up a bit and again added a little more color and physique and there it was, "Paradise." Supernal which pertains to anything celestial helps give the piece its spritual feelings. The piece gives a little insight to what a real space getawaymay look like. With its whispy purples and spirit of Festum behind it, I present "Supernal Paradise."

Here's tomorrow print which is the one mentioned above that I created about two days ago, "Macrocosmic Arcana."

Crystal Lather

"Crystal Lather," with its smooth blue and green spheres of bursting color spirals into the darkness of the unknown. When rendering this piece I had no real ideas about what to create. I came across the outlay for the bubbles and continued on with that. Adding the color and its physique was simple. After a little bit of time what I got was a magnificant and beautiful print, "Crystal Lather."

Heres todays print, "Supernal Paradise."

Contra Equanimity

The print released today(3/14/05) is entitled, “Contra Equanimity.” Its name came about from its overall design and structure. The print was created to simulate the birth of a star, which is not a calm experience. “Equanimity,” gives a feeling of calmness and tranquillity. However, “Contra,” meaning in opposition to or against, deflects the feeling of harmonious peace. “Contra Equanimity,” is somewhat of an abstract one of my first attempts of a hypothetical feel towards a print. So with its burst of color and light I introduce to you, “Contra Equanimity.”

Here is a sneak of tomorrow’s print, “Crystal Lather.”

Intercosmic Aegis

As I creativly played around in the mindless wounders of Ultra Fractal 3, I fell upon a marvelous piece that I named, "Intercosmic Aegis." I sat down about a week ago with some music in the background, and quickly created the backdrop for this piece. Afterwards, I was unhappy with the product so quickly saved it and moved on. Then two days ago I came across this piece once again while strolling through my already made fractals. So I approached this pieceonce more with not much of a hope and began to work on it yet again. Soon I had added the flailing "shields" that protrude from the darkness behind them, and the print was complete. The "shields" as I am refer to are highlighted in the name of the piece, "Aegis." Aegis literally steaming from Greek mythology represents a goatskin shield or breastplate. For my purposes I will only use the term "Aegis" for its representation of a shield. Intercosmic refering to the spacious feeling that the piece breathes. So from the depths of space I present to you, "Intercosmic Aegis."

Chthonic Premonition

While in Ultra Fractal 3 I stumbled upon what resembled rings interlocking with each other, intrigued I continued to add layers with subtle differnces in color. After adding a few layers the piece really began to pull together. Soon the misty appearnce of a dark realm to form, giving the print its gruesom feeling. Once I had achived the atmosphere of the piece that I striving for "Chthonic Premonition," really came together.

The pieces name derives from its deathly ambience. Chthonic meaning "of or relating to the underworld," is exactly the right mind frame for the piece, and works well with premonition. Premonition literally meaning "A warning in advance; a forewarning," concludes the feeling of unimortality that this pieces ululates. With its eerie darkness and the ever presence of death O present to you, "Chthonic Premonition"

Festum Fulmination

"Festum Fulmination," is a print that revisits one of my very first fractals to be rendered, which was simply named "Festum." However, "Festum Fulmination" explores further into the true meaning of Festum and its nature. The word, Festum, derives from a certain Anime called "Sokyuu No Fafner," where as the "festums" are the antagonists to simply put; the human race. So I introduced everyone to "Festum" earlier now with the release of, "Festum Fulmination" you are trasnported to their world and destruction.

I'll begin by explaining the name of the print. Fulmination, can be sumed as an explosion or detonation. "Festum Fulmination," I believe can be viewed in three distinct ways. For one, it appears as the Festum creature is bursting into air raising destruction to the satellite planet. It can be viewed as the Festum is hurling a purple sphere of destruction towards outer space. Now you can percieve this print either way you wish, it was created to represent a little of both views.

So as the "Festum" obliterates everything in site, leaving little bits of stellar gas in its wake. The Festum seems to glide through time without even the slightest of hestitaion to his destruction he leaves. Before the Festum gets out of control and wipes out humanity, I introduce to you, "Festum Fulmination."

Nascent Vortex

"Nascent Vortex," is the last of the Quicksilver prints to be created for Kiyoshi's Gallery. Unlike "Oculus," I fully intended to create "Nascent Vortex" hoping to create a full screen print unlike many of the other recent prints. Today's print mimics "Quicksilver" in its colors, which are still vibrant blues and greens. However "Nascent Vortex" creates a full spiral feeling, pulling the viewer ever so closer to the screen. The smooth curves help enunciate its cool, industrial, dizzing feeling. So with this being the last of the "Quicksilver" prints I present, "Nascent Vortex"

Tomorrow far from the blues of Quicksilver is a sneak of "Festum Fulmination"

Oculus

"Oculus," was rendered using the "Quicksilver" layers. Except this time around I wanted to change the appearence a little bit. I added three more layers with differnt gradients and also a little zoomed in on the piece and there you have "Oculus." I will admit I set out not intending to really create anything after "Troglodyte," but very quickly discovered "Oculus," while playing around with with the layers. I modeled it further to resemble an eye, hinting the name. I soon discovered the maginificant spiral that surrounded the eye and knew I had a print. So I introduce to you, "Oculus."

Troglodyte

"Troglodyte,"was inspired by a recent movie released by M. Night Shyamalan, called "The Village" When I created this print, I instantly visuliazed this movie. I had wanted for a while to create a print that resembled some kind of creature, (hinting back to the original "Quicksilver" print.) Finally with "Troglodyte" I have created a recluse, dank, dark creature who lives in the shadows. The "spikes" protruding from its back helps this creature stay alive in its dangerous enviroment. Its long "tentacles" in the front help it feel its way around the dank ambience of its recesses that it thrives in. "Troglodyte" is a print that takes "Quicksilver" towards the darkside, I enjoy it and I hope you do too! So I introduce to you, "The ones we do not speak of." Anathema

Today's fractal release was "Anathema," named for its outcoming features at the ends of its curving tail. Anathema, can be loosly defined as, "A formal ecclesiastical ban, curse, or excommunication." So when I first created "Anathema," I originally considered it to resemble the slaying end of a scorpion. In doing so I visited the trusty thesaurus which I do often to help me discover the perfect alias for my prints. While looking I happened to find Anathema, which I believed suited this print well.

This is a "Quicksilver Print," as I am calling them, where I have taken the orignial layers(color, and background graphics in Ultra Fractal 3) of "Quicksilver" and just altered the outer appearence. So I introduce to you, "Anathema," if you would like further ordering instructions or just want to see a larger version of this print, visit my "Links" section on the sidebar. Zazzle Gallery will show an "Supersized" view of all my prints. Or you can click the pic on yesterday's Blog image of "Anathema."
